Étude was envisioned as an architectural pause. A deliberate escape from the 'hustle and bustle' and the empty consumerism, into a sanctuary of organic and alternative wellness practices for everyday life. My goal was to create a multisensory journey that begins at the studio’s threshold but doesn't end there. I architected an experience that feels profoundly selective yet as comforting as returning home, transforming wellness from a to-do on the agenda into a sacred, unhurried ritual of tranquility, reflection, and reconnection.

To achieve a deep state of somatic grounding, I know that experiential branding was the way to go, so we decided to integrate principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is one of the passions I've gotten to study formally, into the brand’s olfactive and ingestible narrative.

Using ingredients like Tonka Bean (Sarrapia) for its grounding, balsamic warmth, and dried citrus to regulate Qi (energy flow) and for its beautiful aesthetics, I worked closely with their team of health and wellness experts to curate their best-selling product, a line designed to harmonize the body’s internal environment while also caring for its external surroundings. Psychologically, this "inner-outer" experience creates a biophilic connection, in which the brain recognizes these raw, ancestral scents as signals to lower the heart rate and enter a state of receptive calm, naturally. By offering products that transition from atmospheric (aroma) to biological (tea), we reinforce brand loyalty through a complete immersion in metabolism and sensory experience.

Take a closer look at other elements of this project:

• The ritualized artifact & product experience: Thanks to my knowledge in TCM and previous experience working closely with health and wellness brands, I got to direct the development of a full apothecary line that bridges the gap between the organic and the high-touch.

• Hydrating rituals: We developed a series of organic wax aromatic candles designed for dual-sensory use, evoking ambiance through light and scent, then melting into nutrient-rich body oils for somatic massage and deep hydration.

• Then, after reviewing some classical associations within the community, we developed an incense line, featuring ethically sourced Palo Santo. It was curated to cleanse the "energetic palette" of the space, marking the transition from the external world to the Étude state of mind, and keeping all consumables in-house.

• The signature "simmer-to-tea" line: The star of the show is a revolutionary range of no-waste botanicals — including lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, and cloves — ideated to be simmered at home. As they release health-giving aromatic vapors, they fill the space with a delicious scent that serves its first purpose: aromatherapy. Crucially, unlike traditional potpourri, these mixes are curated as fully potable infusions, allowing the client to consume the exquisite mix they have just breathed in to generate a full-circle experience of wellness, which also includes the satisfaction of the 'handmade' feel.

My Role: Creative Strategist, Visual Identity Designer & Experience Curator

I led the holistic development of the Étude brand experience, focusing on product narrative & sensory strategy. My work involved bringing ancient wellness wisdom into a modern, premium brand language, which is something I hadn't experienced before and was absolutely memorable, as a multipassionate creative. I also directed the visual identity and the tangible product ecosystem, ensuring that every touchpoint — from the packaging to the on-site ambiance — served as a gateway to somatic peace and intentional living.
